HP ZD7000 -- my favorite laptop for DC power jack repair

Every time I walk over to the queue to get my next laptop DC jack repair assigment is kind of like opening a Christmas gift. I never really know what I'm getting! This post is dedicated to my absolute favorite laptop of all when it comes to replacement of the DC jack. It's the HP Pavilion ZD7000 series laptop.

Why do I like this model so much? Besides the fact that it is a very nice laptop with a large 17 inch LCD and full keyboard with numeric keypad:

#1) It's easy to disassemble for DC jack repair. The less time spent on disassembly and reassembly of a laptop the better, right?

#2) The computer has a very solid motherboard. Very rarely do you have any complications with the DC jack repair in a ZD7000.

If you find yourself having power problems with your ZD7000 series laptop, any of us at Comprehensive Computing would be happy to assist you with the DC jack repair. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to be your technician!

Laptop DC Power Jack Repair

I am a laptop motherboard component level repair technician at Comprehensive Computing, Inc. in Richlands, VA. This blog is dedicated to educating the public about the most common major laptop repair out there: laptop DC power jack repair.

All brands of PC laptops are susceptible to having a loose or broken DC power jack, including HP, Compaq, Toshiba, Acer, Averatec, ASUS, Sony, Dell, Gateway, Emachines, Alienware, Fujitsu, Panasonic and IBM to name a few. The DC jack (or DC port, DC connector, power socket, whatever you want to call it) is the port where the AC power adapter plugs into the laptop. The power jack on many appliances never sustains any damage because most appliances that plug into AC power aren't moved around as much as a laptop is moved around. So, the constant plugging and unplugging into and out of the laptop DC power jack tends to weaken the jack over time. And, outright abuse (especially if you have children using your laptop) can make an already fragile power jack break before you know it.

Of course many repair shops don't solder components onto motherboards. Many shops prefer to not even disassemble a laptop period. I can tell you from experience working at Comprehensive Computing that quite a few repair shops send their laptop repairs (especially DC jack repair jobs)to us. I am honored to have so many computer shops trust us with their customers' laptops.

Our laptop DC power jack repair is a quality service. For under 100 bucks we carefully disassemble the laptop, desolder the defective DC jack from the motherboard, clean the contacts on the motherboard, solder a new high quality power connector to the board with state of the art equipment, clean the heatsinks and fans, reassemble the laptop and test the laptop thoroughly. We have a quality control department which tests every laptop before it's officially declared "repaired."

Don't let someone tell you that a laptop's DC power jack can't be replaced or that you will have to have the motherboard replaced in your laptop. We've performed over 10,000 laptop DC jack repairs at Comprehensive Computing from customers in all 50 states, DC and Canada. We actually received over 200 laptops for the first time in a week for our DC jack repair last week, so that number keeps growing at an amazing rate. For all of our past customers, I want to personally thank you for trusting us for your laptop repair needs. If we can help you with your laptop power problems, we're just a phone call (276-964-2500) or email (info@comprehensivecomputing.net) away.
